Durée & résiliation

  • Durée : The date of effect, as well as the end date of the contract, are stipulated in the specific conditions. The contract is concluded for the duration stipulated in the specific conditions. Unless tacitly renewed, the effect of the contract ceases at 24h00 on its end date.
  • Modalité : In case the policyholder desires to cancel the short-term contract, a request must be addressed to the Company.

Prime

  • The amount indicated on the due date notice is payable on the day the insurance takes effect.

Conditions particulières

  • The following items are insured, according to your choice and depending on the coverage area chosen (1 or 2*). * Area 1: All of Europe and certain countries specified (see “Where am I covered?”); ** Zone 2: worldwide p. 1
  • Guarantees granted (if stipulated in the Special Conditions): p. 1

Lacunes d'extraction

  • HEADING CONTRADICTED BY ITS OWN CONTENT — in the "What is not insured ?" box the fifth item reads "Cancellation fees: coverage not forfeited if the cancellation is due to a relapse of a chronic disease with a risk of sudden and pending aggravation". Its wording states that cover is NOT forfeited, which is the opposite of what the heading announces, yet it is printed under that heading and carries the same red cross as the five genuine exclusions around it (verified on a render of page 1). The item is kept exactly where and as the document prints it, in exclusions; it has NOT been moved, reworded or reclassified. A reader should treat the polarity of this single item as unresolved on the face of the document.
  • Printed inconsistency in the area labels: page 1 announces "(1 or 2)" and then glosses " Area 1: All of Europe and certain countries specified (see “Where am I covered?”); ** Zone 2: worldwide" — the second area is called "Zone 2" there and "Area 2" everywhere else (restrictions box, page 2). Both forms are reproduced verbatim; neither was normalised.
  • Carrier: the document prints the brand "LALUX Assurances" in the title banner ("LALUX Assurances - Carefree Holidays") and refers throughout to "the Company" without ever naming a legal entity. No legal form, no RCS number, no address and no authorisation appear on the document, so it is not possible to tell from this document alone which of the group's authorised entities carries the risk. insurer_name reproduces the brand as printed. Note that the product line of this document omits the word "Product :" that the same IPID template prints on other lalux documents.
  • No edition date is printed anywhere on the document: edition_date is null. The PDF metadata carry a creation date of 2018-10-22 and the InDesign file name "IPID_Vacances sans soucis_LALUX_EN.indd (Corr. 22/10/18).indd", which even embeds a correction date; these are metadata, not printed statements, and were deliberately not used as edition_date.
  • is_optional is set to true on every guarantee because the document subordinates them all twice over: the guarantee box is headed "Guarantees granted (if stipulated in the Special Conditions):" and the introduction states "The following items are insured, according to your choice and depending on the coverage area chosen (1 or 2*)." The document does not say which, if any, guarantee is included by default.
  • tacit_renewal is null: the document says "The contract is concluded for the duration stipulated in the specific conditions. Unless tacitly renewed, the effect of the contract ceases at 24h00 on its end date." It acknowledges the possibility of tacit renewal without stating that this contract is tacitly renewed, so the field is left null rather than guessed. The cancellation rubric speaks of "the short-term contract".
  • target_audience is null: the document names no customer segment; its own wording ("people wishing to insure themselves against certain risks that may arise in connection with preparing or undertaking a trip") is kept verbatim in target_audience_note rather than converted into a category.
  • The eight items of the "Are there any restrictions on cover?" box are restrictions and monetary caps rather than exclusions in the strict sense. They are kept in exclusions where the document prints them, each description naming the box, and the same amounts are additionally attached to the guarantees they cap via limits / sub_limits / conditions; these are not additional distinct items.
  • Both the "What is not insured ?" and the "Are there any restrictions on cover?" boxes carry the printed statement "Non-exhaustive list".
  • All amounts are printed with the letters "EUR" (EUR 5,000, EUR 2,500, EUR 1,250) — the € glyph does not occur anywhere in the document, so no currency symbol was lost in extraction. No deductible/franchise, no waiting period and no prescription period appear anywhere: deductibles, waiting_periods and prescription_period are null/empty because the document is silent. The document also states no sum insured for luggage, travel accidents, illness during the trip or cancellation fees.
  • Geometric check performed: the flat text emits the two boxes (y ≥ 266) before the top-of-page blocks (title banner y 30–113, disclaimer y 130, "What type of insurance is it ?" y 208), so the flat reading order does not follow the printed vertical order. Attachment was rebuilt by column: x0 ≈ 29–45 (x1 ≤ 296) for the "What is insured ?" box, x0 ≈ 315–322 for "What is not insured ?" (y 266–510) then "Are there any restrictions on cover?" (y ≥ 535). No column reversal, no restriction landing among the guarantees or the reverse; confirmed on a render.
  • The bullet marks (green ticks, red crosses, orange exclamation marks) are placed images (25 image blocks on page 1) and produce no text; their polarity was read from the render and matches the heading of the box that carries them — including for the contradictory cancellation-fees item, which does carry a red cross. These findings are not in key_quotes because they are not text.
  • The sub-heading "Travel accidents" and the sub-heading "Illness during the trip" are merged by PyMuPDF into the tail of the preceding text block; they are genuinely printed as separate bold sub-headings (verified on the render) and are preserved in the coverage names.
  • The prompt text was verified against the local PDF: both pages come out character-for-character identical from page.get_text("text"). No truncation, no private-use-area glyphs, no U+0007, no zero-width spaces, no soft hyphens, no lost ligatures.
  • lalux publishes this product as separate French, German and English files. This document was extracted from its own English text only; no wording, amount or missing field was completed from a sibling language version.
