SPUERKEESS credit card insurance – Assistance and Non Assistance cover (VISA CLASSIC) IPID EN

Résumé

Insurance product information document for the insurance cover attached to VISA CLASSIC credit cards issued by SPUERKEESS, distributed under the LALUX Assurances brand. The “What is covered by the insurance ?” box lists three NON-ASSISTANCE covers: ACCIDENT WHILE TRAVELLING (DEATH / DISABILITY), PROTECTION OF PURCHASES and DELIVERY OF GOODS PURCHASED VIA THE INTERNET; although the title of the document and the exclusions box both refer to ASSISTANCE cover, no ASSISTANCE cover is listed anywhere in the document. The insured persons are the holder of a valid SPUERKEESS credit card and their spouse/partner and children under 25, and the insurance is valid worldwide, with a territorial restriction for the internet-delivery cover. The document states no amounts, sub-limits, deductibles or premium and refers throughout to General Terms and Conditions that it does not reproduce.

Lacunes d'extraction

  • ASSISTANCE cover announced but never listed — the most consequential defect of this document. The title prints “SPUERKEESS credit card insurance – Assistance and Non-Assistance cover” and the fourth box is headed “NON-ASSISTANCE and ASSISTANCE COVER :”, but the “What is covered by the insurance ?” box contains ONLY the heading “NON-ASSISTANCE COVER :” and its three bullets; the whole lower two thirds of that box (roughly y 390 to 1000 pt of the grey panel) is blank on the page. Checked on a 2x render of page 1: nothing is printed there, and page.get_drawings() and the image blocks show no marks in that area either, so this is not a text-layer defect but the printed state of the document. No ASSISTANCE cover is recorded, because this document does not name any. Sibling language versions of the SPUERKEESS range are NOT used to fill the hole.
  • Carrier: the document prints the brand “LALUX Assurances – product : VISA CLASSIC credit cards” in the header banner and names “the Compensation Department of LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE” on page 2. It states no legal form, no RCS number and no address, so it cannot be determined from this document which authorised entity carries the risk (LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE S.A. or LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE-VIE S.A.). No carrier is recorded; insurer_name keeps the task metadata value “lalux”. Third parties named but not identified as the carrier: WillisTowers Watson Luxembourg S.A. / Willis Towers Watson Luxembourg S.A. (claims intake, both spellings printed on page 2) and SPUERKEESS (card issuer and host of the claim form).
  • Cross bullets are bitmap images and are misaligned against the items they mark. In the “What is not covered ?” box there are exactly 7 red-cross images (y0 = 330.6, 353.6, 387.4, 412.2, 490.0, 517.8, 544.2) and exactly 7 semicolon-terminated exclusion statements, so the counts close — but they are not opposite each other: “earthquake or other disasters ;” and “direct or indirect effects of fire, explosion, heat” carry no cross, while two crosses fall inside the single nuclear sentence, splitting it visually after “heat” and after “transmutation of”. The 7 exclusions were therefore segmented on the semicolons of the text layer and checked against a 2x render, not on the bullet glyphs. The nuclear exclusion is recorded as ONE item, which is how the sentence reads (“heat release”, “transmutation of atomic nuclei”), although the page makes it look like three.
  • Rubric contradicted by its content (kept, not repaired): the sentence “A lawyer may only be appointed by the insured person with the written consent of the Company.” is printed inside the “What is not covered ?” box, as the last paragraph before the “Non-exhaustive list” footnote, with no cross marker. It is a condition on the handling of a claim, not an exclusion. It has been kept in exclusions[] because that is where the document prints it, with the placement stated in its description, and it is also recorded in obligations[], claims_procedure[] and special_conditions[]. That is one printed sentence deliberately filed in four places, not four distinct items.
  • Rubric contradicted by its content (kept, not repaired): the box headed “How do I cancel the contract ?” on page 2 contains no cancellation right, no notice period and no cancellation method. Its four dashes describe when cover takes effect, when it terminates ipso jure, how payments made before cancellation of the card are treated, and which cover applies at the date of the claim. duration_and_cancellation records them as printed; notice_period, methods and tacit_renewal are null because the document says nothing about them.
  • Sections of the standard IPID that this document does not print at all: “When and how do I pay ?” (so premium is null) and “When does the cover start and end ?”. Inception and termination appear only inside the “How do I cancel the contract ?” box. There is no prescription/limitation section, no complaints or ombudsman address, no supervisory authority (CAA) and no data-protection section.
  • In the “Are there any exclusions to the cover ?” box there are 3 items but only 2 orange “!” marker images (y0 = 699.5 and 754.9): “Trip lasting more than 91 consecutive days.” carries no marker, and its text-layer line begins with a bare tab. It is recorded as a separate item because it is a separate sentence on its own line, confirmed on the render.
  • No amounts anywhere: the document states no sum insured, no sub-limit, no deductible, no waiting period and no premium for any of the three covers. The only figures printed are “30%” of the trip cost, “91 consecutive days”, “30 working days” and “the age of 25”. deductibles, waiting_periods and prescription_period are null/empty because the document is silent, not because they were not extracted. There is no € amount at all in the document, so the missing-€-glyph trap does not arise here.
  • edition_date and reference are null: no edition date, version code, form number or footer of any kind is printed on either page. Nothing was taken from the file name or from PDF metadata.
  • Printed defects preserved verbatim and not corrected: “wich” for “which” in the last exclusion; “WillisTowers Watson Luxembourg S.A.” without a space in the first sentence of page 2 against “Willis Towers Watson Luxembourg S.A.” three lines later; a double space in “paid for with the VISA CLASSIC credit card”. All three are as printed, confirmed on the render, and are reproduced inside key_quotes as exact spans.
  • Reading order of the text layer differs from the printed order of page 1, without any value being mis-attached: page.get_text("text") emits the left column (“What is covered by the insurance ?”, y 266-380), then the right column (“What is not covered ?”, y 266-616, then “Are there any exclusions to the cover ?”, y 652-795), and only then the Disclaimer (y 130-160) and “What type of insurance is it ?” (y 177-240), which are printed ABOVE both columns. Attachment was rebuilt from the span abscissas: covered items at x0 = 75.9-90.1, exclusions at x0 = 348.1-362.3. There is NO left/right column swap and no covered item has landed among the exclusions or the reverse. Stated because the flat text alone would put the definition of the insured persons after the exclusions.
  • Text-layer quality checks on this file, all clean: the two pages extracted with page.get_text("text") are byte-identical to the text pasted in the prompt (2 730 and 1 695 characters). No zero-width spaces, no soft hyphens, no NFD combining accents (NFC == text), no Private-Use-Area glyphs, no U+0007, no vectorised text, no enciphered block, no off-canvas text, no duplicated or superimposed headers/footers, no dropped fi/ff/fl ligatures. Special characters present and preserved inside the quotes: 5 curly apostrophes U+2019 and U+2009 thin spaces before “? : ;” throughout, plus a tab before each bullet.
  • Page numbers: the document prints no folio. All page values are the [page N] markers of the prompt, which here match the PDF page numbers 1 and 2 (2-page PDF, no cover page, no offset).
  • is_optional is false on all three coverages: all three are printed inside the “What is covered by the insurance ?” box and the document marks none of them as optional; the words “option” and “optional” do not occur. There is no formula/tick matrix in this document, so no membership matrix had to be reconstructed.
  • target_audience is null: the document states no market segment (particuliers / entreprises / independants / secteur public). It states only who the insured persons are, recorded verbatim in target_audience_note.
