Lacunes d'extraction

  • SCRAMBLED READING ORDER on the single page, rebuilt from coordinates. This PDF was produced from a Word file by PDFCreator, not from InDesign like the rest of this insurer's IPIDs, and the text layer emits the boxes in an order that matches neither the columns nor the vertical position. Printed layout: LEFT column (x0 58.9 / 94.3) carries "What is insured?" (y 183), "What is not insured?" (y 430), "Where am I covered?" (y 598) and "When does the cover start and end?" (y 723); RIGHT column (x0 321.4 / 356.8) carries "What are my obligations?" (y 183), "When and how do I pay?" (y 573) and "How do I amend the contract?" (y 650); "What is this type of insurance?" (y 142) is full width above both. The text layer emits them as: not-insured (left, y 430), obligations (right, y 183), insured (left, y 183), start-and-end (left, y 723), amend (right, y 650), where-covered (left, y 598), type-of-insurance (y 142), pay (right, y 573), footer. So the EXCLUSIONS are emitted BEFORE the COVERAGES. Every section's own content is nevertheless contiguous with its own heading, so no item is attached to the wrong section; only the order of the sections is wrong. Attachment was rebuilt from coordinates and cross-checked on a 2x render of the whole page.
  • Polarity independently confirmed from the bullet glyphs, which here ARE text - two different control characters, not images and not vector drawings. The two ticked items of "What is insured?" are introduced by U+0002 (green tick on the page) and the eight items of "What is not insured?" by U+0001 (red cross on the page). The arithmetic closes exactly: 2 x U+0002 + 8 x U+0001 = 10 control characters in the whole text layer, against 2 covered bullets and 8 exclusions. Verified on the render: green ticks in the covered box, red crosses in the not-insured box.
  • WARNING FOR GROUNDING: because the bullets are U+0001 and U+0002 control characters embedded in the text, two key_quotes that span a bullet list necessarily CONTAIN those characters - the quote of the five "Restrictions without waiver possible" items and the quote of the three "Additional exclusions". They were sliced as exact spans and are byte-exact against the text layer, but any grounding check that strips or normalises control characters will not match them. The other twelve key_quotes were deliberately routed around the bullets and contain none.
  • RUBRIC DEFECT, preserved and NOT repaired: inside the box titled "What is not insured?" the first list is headed "Restrictions without waiver possible:" - the word RESTRICTIONS, which in the EU IPID template belongs to a different box, used here to introduce what are plainly exclusions (intentional events, crimes and offences, military aviation, war and riots, nuclear risks). The heading and its content disagree in vocabulary. The eight items are recorded under exclusions because the box itself is the not-insured box, and the sub-heading wording is preserved in the key_quotes.
  • SECTION MISSING from the standard IPID template, and a non-standard one in its place: this document has NO "Are there any restrictions on cover?" box at all, and NO "How do I cancel the contract?" box. Where the cancellation box would be, it prints "How do I amend the contract?" listing six amendment options - increase/decrease cover, increase/decrease duration, change the payment method, release the contract from premium payments in return for a reduction in coverage, redeem the contract (surrender fees may apply), and a printed ellipsis "…" as a sixth item that leaves the list open. duration_and_cancellation.notice_period and .methods are null in consequence: the document never says how or when the policyholder may terminate. Redemption and the release from premiums are recorded under special_rights because they are the only exit routes the document describes.
  • CARRIER - this document, unlike the other IPIDs of this insurer, DOES name the entity: the header block prints "LALUX Assurances-Vie" on its third line and the logo at the top right reads "lalux ASSURANCES-VIE", both confirmed on an 8x render. insurer_name therefore records "LALUX Assurances-Vie", which identifies the life business rather than the group brand. Note the limit of that reading: the document still gives NO legal form, NO RCS number and NO address, so it names the life arm without formally identifying the authorised legal entity behind it. Nothing was inferred beyond the printed words.
  • Edition date: "11.2018" is PRINTED on the page, in 6 pt at the bottom left of the footer, and confirmed on a 10x render. edition_date therefore carries "11.2018" exactly as printed. Two non-printed sources agree and were not needed: the source URL ends in "version-112018" and the PDF metadata title is "IPID_Assurance TD docx_EN_Version 112018" (creator PDFCreator Version 1.7.1, created 2018-12-05 17:29:05+01:00). No other reference or version number is printed, so reference is null.
  • is_optional is null for "Additional coverage - Total permanent disability". The document distinguishes it from "Primary coverage - Death" and gives it its own exclusion list and its own territorial restriction, but it never states whether it is included by default or subscribed as an option, and it never uses the words "option" or "optional". Null records that silence; "Additional" was deliberately not read as "optional". The primary death cover is set false because the document calls it the primary coverage.
  • No product or range name is printed anywhere on this document: there is no "Produit :" line of the kind the other IPIDs of this insurer carry, and no easyPROTECT or other commercial prefix. product_name therefore records the printed document title "Outstanding balance insurance - Mortgage insurance" and product_family the shorter "Outstanding balance insurance", which the body sentence uses as the alternative name of the product. variant is null.
  • Branch: the task value solde-restant-du is copied through and is fully supported by the document, whose title is "Outstanding balance insurance - Mortgage insurance" and whose subject is the repayment of a mortgage debt on death. No divergence to report on this one.
  • target_audience is null: the document names no market segment. It speaks only of "the borrower", "the policyholder" and "the insured person"; that wording is in target_audience_note and was not turned into an audience.
  • The document contains NO figures at all except the deadlines and the edition date: no sum insured, no ceiling, no sub-limit, no deductible, no premium rate, no age limit and no waiting period. The sum insured is defined only by reference - "the amount of outstanding capital and interest since the last maturity according to the amortization table outlined in the Special Conditions of the contract" - which is recorded verbatim as the primary cover's limits. deductibles and prescription_period are null and waiting_periods is empty because the document is silent, not because they were skipped. The only quantities printed are eight days (accident claim report), two months (illness notification), three months (stays outside Europe) and "11.2018". No currency symbol appears anywhere, so none could have been lost in extraction.
  • "surrender fees may apply" is the only cost the document mentions, and it gives no amount or rate. It is recorded verbatim under the amendment options and under special_rights.
  • The document refers to general and/or special conditions that it does not reproduce, in the Disclaimer and again for the amortization table and the death benefit, and gives no reference, edition or URL for them. The Disclaimer states in terms that the information and obligations set out are not exhaustive - so the 2 coverages and 8 exclusions recorded are everything this document prints, but expressly not everything that applies to the product. Note that, unlike the other IPIDs of this insurer, this one carries NO "Non-exhaustive list" note under its lists; the reservation is carried by the Disclaimer alone.
  • Verified against the PDF and not only against the prompt: the single page was re-extracted with page.get_text("text") from data/lu/pdfs/lalux/solde-restant-du/58643kb-94413c83.pdf and is character-identical to the prompt text (4007 characters). The prompt text was not truncated. No text outside the page rectangle. The page carries 12 placed images: 7 section icons and 5 horizontal strips of the lalux logo; none of them is a membership mark.
  • Text-layer checks: no zero-width spaces (U+200B), no soft hyphens (U+00AD), no NFD combining accents, no Private-Use-Area glyphs, no U+0007, no dropped fi/ff/fl ligatures, no enciphered text, no ghost footer, no stacked headers, no word split by a real hyphen at a line break, and no thin spaces. Special characters present: 8 x U+0001 and 2 x U+0002 (the bullets, see above) and 2 x U+2019 curly apostrophes. Many lines end with a trailing space, and the long empty stretch between the Disclaimer and "What is not insured?" in the flat text is a run of blank lines produced by the scrambled emission order, not a missing section.
  • All key_quotes were sliced programmatically as exact spans of the PDF text layer (never retyped). The document is a single page, so no page marker could be swallowed.
  • Nothing was completed from the French or German versions of this same IPID; each language file of this insurer is extracted independently from its own text.
