SPUERKEESS credit card insurance – Assistance and Non Assistance cover (MILES & MORE LUXAIR VISA credit cards) IPID
Résumé
Insurance product information document (IPID) for the insurance attached to SPUERKEESS credit cards, in the MILES & MORE LUXAIR VISA variant, presented under the LALUX Assurances brand. It sets out two groups of cover: NON-ASSISTANCE COVER (accident while travelling, cancellation or interruption of a trip, flight/loss/delay of luggage, flight delay or extension of stay if blocked, protection of purchases, delivery of goods purchased via the internet, and exemption from the rental vehicle / e-mobility excess) and ASSISTANCE COVER (in the event of illness or death, and cash emergency). The insured persons are the cardholder, the spouse/partner and children under the age of 25 under the stated conditions. The cover is valid worldwide and is conditional on at least 30% of the cost of the insured trip being paid with the card. The document lists the cover by title only and gives no amounts, limits or deductibles.

Lacunes d'extraction
One entry of the restrictions box is printed WITHOUT its bullet mark, and the arithmetic therefore does NOT close on that box. The « Are there any exclusions to the cover ? » box contains three text items but only two orange exclamation-mark images (x0 350,0 pt, 2,4 x 8,9 pt, at y 710,4 and y 765,7 pt). The middle item, « Trips lasting more than 91 consecutive days. » (y 744,9 pt), carries no mark and is set at x0 361,1 pt, the continuation indent of the preceding bullet, rather than at the bullet indent x0 358,6 pt. A 6x render of the band confirms what is printed: the sentence appears on its own line, with no orange mark, visually hanging under the first bullet. It has been recorded as a separate item because it is a distinct restriction (a trip-duration limit) that cannot belong to the 30%-payment rule above it, but a reader of the page cannot tell from the layout whether the publisher intended a third bullet or a continuation. The mismatch (3 items against 2 marks) is reported rather than resolved.
Rubric defect (kept as printed, not repaired): the box headed « Are there any exclusions to the cover ? » contains no exclusion in the proper sense. Its three entries are a condition of validity of the cover (at least 30% of the trip cost paid with the card), a trip-duration restriction (more than 91 consecutive days) and a cross-reference to the General Terms and Conditions. All three were left in exclusions[] as the document classifies them, with a bracketed note; the first two are also carried into every coverage’s conditions[] so the data stays usable. The real exclusions are in the « What is not covered ? » box.
Content that is not an exclusion inside the exclusions box: the sentence « A lawyer may only be appointed by the insured person with the written consent of the Company. » (y 558,9 pt) is printed inside « What is not covered ? », after the seven exclusion bullets and without a red cross of its own. It is a condition on legal representation, not an exclusion, and has been recorded in obligations[] and special_conditions[] rather than in exclusions[]. Its position in the box is reported here.
Language leak: this is the English version, but the notice at the foot of the « What is not covered ? » box is printed in French, « Liste non exhaustive » (y 585,5 pt), while the second box correctly carries the English « Non-exhaustive list » (y 796,9 pt). Both are quoted verbatim in key_quotes. Nothing was translated or corrected, and no wording was taken from any other language version of this document.
Mark counting (bitmap images, neither text nor vector drawings; counted from the image blocks of get_text("dict"), placed by coordinate, polarity confirmed on a render). Page 1 carries 11 images: 2 green ticks at x0 65,1 pt (7,2 x 7,9 pt), 7 red crosses at x0 348,1 pt (6,7 x 6,8 pt) and 2 orange exclamation marks at x0 350,0 pt (2,4 x 8,9 pt). The two green ticks do NOT mark cover items: they mark the two group headings « NON-ASSISTANCE COVER : » (y 315,8 pt) and « ASSISTANCE COVER : » (y 507,3 pt). The nine individual cover items are bulleted with a text « • » character at x0 74,9 / 73,9 pt, not with an image - 7 under NON-ASSISTANCE and 2 under ASSISTANCE. The 7 red crosses close exactly against the 7 exclusion bullets. The 2 orange marks do not close against the 3 items of the third box (see the first gap). Page 2 carries 2 green ticks (x0 65,1 pt) for the two entries of « Where does the cover apply ? ».
Column check (negative result): page 1 is set in two columns, « What is covered by the insurance ? » at x0 65,1 pt and « What is not covered ? » / « Are there any exclusions to the cover ? » at x0 348,1 pt. The flat text emits the whole left column first, then the right column, matching the print. There is no column reversal and no item is attached to the wrong side.
Reading-order defect on page 1 (verified by coordinates): the flat text emits the « Disclaimer » block (y0 130,7 pt) and the « What type of insurance is it ? » heading with its paragraph (y0 177,8 and 197,0 pt) LAST, after the three boxes, although they are printed at the top of the page, above them (the boxes start at y0 276,1 pt). No value is mis-attached by this, the blocks being self-contained.
The cover items are given as titles only. The « What is covered by the insurance ? » box lists nine covers in capitals with no description, no insured sum, no limit, no sub-limit, no deductible and no waiting period. coverages[].description is therefore null for eight of the nine; only « DELIVERY OF GOODS PURCHASED VIA THE INTERNET » gets substance, from the territorial statement on page 2. The document contains no monetary amount whatsoever - not one figure in euros on either page. deductibles is null for the same reason.
Risk carrier: the identification line names only the brand, « LALUX Assurances – product: MILES & MORE LUXAIR VISA credit cards », and the body otherwise says « the Company » and « the insurance company ». However, page 2 does print one entity name in the claims-handling sentence: « WillisTowers Watson Luxembourg S.A. receives the claims which it forwards to the Compensation Department of LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE. » That names LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE as the holder of the Compensation Department for the non-assistance cover; it is not phrased as a statement of who underwrites the risk, no legal form, registered office or supervisory authority is given, and the assistance cover is notified to a DKV address (assistance@dkv.lu). The document therefore names an entity in connection with claims handling but does not state the risk carrier, which has not been inferred. SPUERKEESS is named as the card issuer and « the bank ».
No edition date, no version, no form code on either page (both rendered and checked); edition_date and reference remain null. The manifest entry carries no date either.
target_audience remains null: the document names no market category. It defines the insured persons (cardholder, spouse/partner, children under 25 under the stated conditions) but never assigns the product to a category. The wording is reproduced in target_audience_note.
is_optional is null throughout: the document splits the cover into « NON-ASSISTANCE COVER » and « ASSISTANCE COVER » but never says whether any of the nine covers is optional, nor whether the two groups are sold together. There is no formula table and no « option » marking.
Product naming: the printed title is « SPUERKEESS credit card insurance – Assistance and Non-Assistance cover » (with double spaces around the dash in the text layer) and the IPID identification line reads « LALUX Assurances – product: MILES & MORE LUXAIR VISA credit cards ». The title was taken as product_name because it names the insurance, product_family was set to « SPUERKEESS credit card insurance » and the card named on the identification line was recorded as variant. Both printed forms are quoted verbatim in key_quotes.
The document has NO section on premiums or payments: the IPID template’s « When and how do I pay ? » box is absent from both pages, and no premium, price, payment frequency or indexation is mentioned anywhere. premium is null. There is likewise no « When does the cover start and end ? » box; the commencement and termination rules are printed inside the « How do I cancel the contract ? » box and have been recorded in duration_and_cancellation.
duration_and_cancellation.tacit_renewal, notice_period and methods are null: the document describes only automatic termination linked to the card (non-renewal, withdrawal, termination of the underlying contract) and never mentions tacit renewal, a notice period, or how the insured person may cancel - despite the box being headed « How do I cancel the contract ? ». That heading is not matched by its content, which is reported here and not repaired.
No prescription period, no waiting period, no right of withdrawal, no complaints procedure, no ombudsman and no supervisory authority are mentioned in the document.
The prompt text was not truncated. Both pages were re-extracted from the local PDF with page.get_text("text") and are character-for-character identical to the prompt text (page 1: 3038 characters; page 2: 3314 characters).
Typographic features of the text layer, relevant to citation: thin spaces U+2009 before colons, semicolons and question marks (« Disclaimer : », « What is not covered ? », « the beneficiary ; »), two en dashes U+2013 (in the title and in the identification line), 5 curly apostrophes U+2019, and double spaces in « SPUERKEESS credit card insurance – » and « The insured person has certain obligations ». No line-break hyphenation, no zero-width spaces, no private-use characters. Quotes were sliced programmatically from the PDF text so these features are preserved.
Publisher typing errors kept verbatim, not corrected: « wich » for « which » in « Each type of cover has its own specific exclusions, wich can be consulted » ; « toassistance@dkv.lu » with no space after « e-mail » ; « WillisTowers Watson Luxembourg S.A. » without a space in the first occurrence, against « Willis Towers Watson Luxembourg S.A. » two sentences later; and « General terms and Conditions » with inconsistent capitalisation.
