Lacunes d'extraction

  • PRINTING DEFECT IN THE EXCLUSION LIST, CONFIRMED ON A RENDER — the ✗ markers of the box "What is not covered ?" are placed against the wrong lines on the printed page. The box holds 7 semicolon-delimited exclusion items and exactly 7 ✗ markers (placed bitmap images at x0=348.1, y0 = 333.6 / 356.6 / 390.4 / 415.2 / 493.0 / 520.8 / 534.8), so the counts close at 7/7 — but the assignment does not. Markers 1-4 sit correctly against "wilful or intentional deceit", "drunkenness", "brawl" and "races and competitions". Then "earthquake or other disasters ;" (y=475.9) carries NO marker; marker 5 (y=493.0) sits on "civil or foreign war ;"; the first line of the nuclear exclusion, "direct or indirect effects of fire, explosion, heat" (y=503.7), carries NO marker; and markers 6 and 7 (y=520.8 / 534.8) sit MID-SENTENCE inside that single exclusion, on its second and third lines ("release, irradiation, resulting from transmutation of" and "atomic nuclei or radioactivity, as well as by"). Verified at 6x zoom: the page really prints it that way, it is not an extraction artefact. The 7 exclusions in this JSON are therefore delimited by the document's own semicolons, which is the only self-consistent reading; a reader counting the red crosses on the page will not be able to match them to the items.
  • SECOND MARKER DEFECT, SAME PAGE — in the box "Are there any exclusions to the cover ?" there are 3 items but only 2 "!" markers (images at x0=350.0, y0 = 699.0 and 754.3). "Trip lasting more than 91 consecutive days." (y=733.6) is printed with no marker at all, although the text layer does emit a stray tab where its marker should be. Confirmed on a 6x render. Recorded as a full exclusion because it is a complete printed sentence stating a limit of cover.
  • SECTION-HEADING DEFECTS (kept, not repaired). Three of them: (a) the standard IPID box "Are there any restrictions on cover ?" is printed here as "Are there any exclusions to the cover ?" (note also the double space before the question mark), so the document carries two boxes both labelled as exclusions; (b) the sentence "A lawyer may only be appointed by the insured person with the written consent of the Company." is printed inside the box "What is not covered ?", after the exclusion bullets — it is a procedural rule, not an exclusion, so it is recorded in special_conditions and NOT in exclusions, and its misplacement is flagged here rather than silently corrected; (c) the box "How do I cancel the contract ?" contains no cancellation procedure at all — no notice period, no method, no form — it describes only when cover starts and when it terminates ipso jure. Nothing in the document says how a policyholder cancels.
  • MISSING STANDARD IPID BOXES — the document has no "When and how do I pay ?" box and no "When does the cover start and end ?" box. premium is therefore null: no premium, payment term, indexation or price mechanism is stated anywhere. Likewise no franchise/excess (deductibles all null), no waiting period and no prescription period are mentioned.
  • CONTRADICTION INSIDE THE SOURCE — the box "What is covered by the insurance ?" lists exactly three covers (ACCIDENT WHILE TRAVELLING (DEATH / DISABILITY) under NON-ASSISTANCE COVER; IN THE EVENT OF ILLNESS OR DEATH and CASH EMERGENCY under ASSISTANCE COVER). But page 2, in the box "Where does the cover apply ?", refers to a fourth guarantee that the cover box never mentions: "For the delivery guarantee of goods purchased on the Internet: guaranteed purchases are those made on a commercial website based in a European country or in the United States and the guaranteed goods must be delivered to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg or within the European Union." Both readings are recorded: the delivery guarantee is kept as a fourth coverage, cited to page 2, with its absence from the cover list stated in its description.
  • Carrier / risk bearer: the header names only the commercial brand, "LALUX Assurances – product : VISA BUSINESS credit cards", which does not identify a licensed legal entity. Page 2 does name one entity in a claims-handling role — "WillisTowers Watson Luxembourg S.A. receives the claims which it forwards to the Compensation Department of LA LUXEMBOURGEOISE" — and routes assistance claims to (+352) 42 64 64 844 / assistance@dkv.lu. Those are recorded as facts in special_conditions, but the document never states which entity carries the risk for which cover, so no carrier has been asserted.
  • target_audience left null. The card is designated "VISA BUSINESS" in the header, which would suggest a professional audience, while the insured circle defined by the document is a private household (holder, spouse/partner, children under 25). The document itself states no audience, so the category is left null and both elements are kept in target_audience_note.
  • No edition date, version code or document reference is printed anywhere on the two pages; edition_date and reference left null.
  • Product naming: the document prints two designations — the title "SPUERKEESS credit card insurance – Assistance and Non-Assistance" (page 1, top) and the header field "LALUX Assurances – product : VISA BUSINESS credit cards". product_name takes the title, product_family the line without the Assistance/Non-Assistance split, and variant the card designation from the header field. Both are quoted.
  • Insurer's own spellings preserved, not corrected: "wich" for "which" (page 1, box "Are there any exclusions to the cover ?"), "WillisTowers Watson" without a space at first mention on page 2 while the second mention on the same page prints "Willis Towers Watson", and "toassistance@dkv.lu" with no space between "to" and the e-mail address (page 2). Double spaces inside "the VISA BUSINESS credit card" and "The insured person" are likewise kept, which is why the corresponding quotes contain them.
  • Two-column reading-order check performed and NEGATIVE for content attachment: page 1 is two columns (left x0≈22.7-89.0, right x0≈348.1-488.3) and page 2 is single-column (x0≈65.1-93.4). Every item was re-attached to its box by the y-range of that box's heading, and the result matches the flat text order. One ordering quirk that is NOT a column inversion: the top-of-page blocks — the disclaimer (y=130.7) and the box "What type of insurance is it ?" (y=177.8) — are printed ABOVE the two columns but are emitted LAST in the flat text of page 1, because they are drawn late in the content stream. Their page number is unaffected.
  • Graphics layer: the markers of this document are placed bitmap images, not text and not vector drawings. Page 1 carries 11 image blocks — 2 at x0=65.1 (7.2×7.9, the ✓ marks of the two cover headings NON-ASSISTANCE COVER and ASSISTANCE COVER), 7 at x0=348.1 (6.7×6.8, the ✗ marks of the exclusion list) and 2 at x0=350.0 (2.4×8.9, the ! marks of the restrictions box); 2+7+2=11, the count closes. The three cover items themselves are bulleted with real text bullets ("•"). There is no formula/guarantee matrix in this document, so no membership had to be recovered from the graphics layer; is_optional is left null for all four coverages because the document never states whether any of them is optional.
  • No amount, capital, ceiling, sub-limit or franchise figure is printed anywhere in this document: the only figures are "30%" of the trip cost, "91 consecutive days", "30 working days", "three days", "30 days", the age limit of 25 and the assistance phone number. The covers are listed by name with no insured sums, so limits is null throughout. The euro-glyph trap does not arise: the document tabulates no amount at all.
  • Text-layer integrity verified: our own PyMuPDF page.get_text("text") extraction is byte-identical to the document text supplied in the prompt (2 pages, no truncation). Character scan found no zero-width spaces, no soft hyphens, no PUA/Wingdings leftovers, no U+0007 vectorisation markers, no enciphered block and no ligature loss; the special characters present are 5 curly apostrophes (U+2019), thin spaces (U+2009) before ":" and ";" and en dashes (–), all preserved verbatim in key_quotes.
  • Language: this is the English version and it was extracted from its own text only. Nothing was borrowed from the French, German or other card-variant siblings of this IPID.
